Developer and hotelier Easton’s Group, owner of a number of successful hotel franchises in Ontario and Quebec and recipient of ‘Best Developer’ in the GTA for 2014 by RealNet, recently launched a new company brand called The Gupta Group. The new brand has just opened two new hotels in Markham called Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Northeast Markham and the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Toronto Northeast Markham, both to be located within an existing building at 7095 Woodbine Avenue, formerly a Holiday Inn hotel.

“The City of Markham is extremely delighted to welcome The Gupta Group and Marriott Hotels,” said Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “Not only does this significant investment by two industry leaders signal confidence in Markham, but also recognizes the growing business base in the city and the number of business travelers Markham attracts.”
For travellers expecting traditional business accommodations, The Courtyard by Marriott hotel offers rooms on floors 2-8 of the building, while the TownePlace Suites by Marriott offer spaces with kitchenettes similar to individual apartments on floors 9-14. These suites are better suited to business travellers planning on staying in the area a little longer.
“The opening of two new Marriott Hotels has marked a return to the foundations of the company’s significant growth,” said Steve Gupta, President and CEO, Easton’s Group and The Gupta Group. “The timing is right to introduce The Gupta Group, which is testament that while we have grown dramatically over the past many years, we are still very much a family-owned and operated company. By branding with our family name, we are staying true to our family values of excellence in quality and service which run throughout our company and all of our businesses,” added Gupta.
